About the Album Mars Lasar "11:02"
Since "The Eleventh Hour" I've released many albums but have had many requests for a sequel. This eclectic collection continues the quest for hope and ultimate creativity.
"The Eleventh Hour" is to this day probably my favorite record. Its sequel "11:02" has been a long time in coming and I want to personally thank all of my fans who supported its creation and release. I would also like to extend my heart-felt thanks to the radio programmers and dj's who gave "The Eleventh Hour" so much support.
Artist profile
Mars Lasar is a composer, sound designer,
music producer and visual artist. Having
received his first platinum record for his
work on "Crazy," the hit single by recording
artist Seal, Mars boasts an impressive list
of credits in both mainstream music and
multimedia. His television credits include
The Discovery Channel's "Movie Magic"
where he was featured in a segment and
MTV's "Rock The Vote" 1995 program which
used many of his compositions. A native of
Australia, Mars was a composer for that
country's Fairlight Instruments system which
is used in sampling. Early in his career he
supported such Aussie acts as Michael
Oldfield, Midnight Oil and Split Enz. 11:02
serves as a conceptual sequel to his 1993
release The Eleventh Hour which Billboard
called "an ambitious instrumental journey
that pushes the limits of the genre." An
accomplished surreal expressionist painter,
11:02's cover artwork features a painting by
Lasar (as do some of his other releases).
